Trivia[]

Mukozuke translates "placed to the side". It refers to dishes - usually fine porcelain - used to serve seasonal sashimi, eel and other foods that are tasty but unappealing to the eye.[1]

Real Facts[]

Sashimi (/səˈʃiːmiː/; Japanese: 刺身, pronounced [saɕi̥mi]) is a Japanese delicacy consisting of very fresh raw meat or fish sliced into thin pieces.[2]

Konnyaku is a product made from konjac, a tuberous vegetable sometimes confused as a yam. While bland, the starch from the konjac gives konnyaku its chewiness. Konnyaku is frequently used as a dietary food in that it contains a lot of fiber with a low calorie/fat content; it also has the benefit of cleansing the bowels due to its high water percentage.[3]
