Sorry to bother you, but when you were away this wikia kinda blew up with users who love posting pictures about the food and listing fan recipes of Shokugeki recipes. Some have even posted step by step process of the cooking process.
Considering that the author has already posted a step by step guide for the dishes in the volumes, are the the fan recipes allowed? They are derived from the Shokugeki source as inspiration, but I know that there is often times variation with fanmade recipes from the official one.
If not, can a separate page be created for these fan recipes?
As for photos, some pages have blown up with pictures. They have even added photos of the cooking process as well. Is there a limit to photos that can be added? Some of the pages with 7-10 pictures have already largely turned into an image gallery when compared to the amount of content given to description and details comparatively.

As per wiki policies, we should avoid uploading fan-crufty content which include uploading image and the varying recipes from the original dishes.
However, with the Discussions feature added recently, we are currently considering to move all fan made material over there. But as this feature is new, guildlines there are yet to made and discussions are in place before we allow a large influx of data into the site. But yes, the Discussions feature might just be the separate page you just suggested.

Our wiki doesn't impose a limit to the amount of pictures uploaded in a page per se. However, the general consensus is to avoid uploading multiple images with the same context. For example, it is highly discouraged to upload a cooking process depicted in the manga/anime in two different angles/frames, instead we just upload the better one.
I hope this answers your questions! Don't hesitate to respond if you have further inquiries.
Also, a more personal question, was my absence here a big thing so much so that normal users know about it? Or are you already a regular here?
Hi Pscj; I'm Amanda with FANDOM's community development team! I wanted to know if you'd let me: remove the word "wikia" from the main page/wordmark and change it to "wiki." I'm also reaching out to you to see if you are interested in turning on Discussions.
In case you are unaware of the feature, Discussions was introduced last year to help communities engage with users and fans. It lives in its own space on the wiki and allows users to interact with other members of the community. It is also mobile friendly, and gives mobile users a chance to contribute and engage with the community, and possibly turn them into wiki editors as well. You can read more about Discussions here.
For more information on migrating forums to Discussions, you can check out this blog over on Community Central that explains everything in detail.
If you have some concerns, Discussions and Forums can exist side-by-side in case you do not want to migrate just yet. However, eventually all Forums will be migrated over to Discussions, so getting ahead of the curve is never a bad idea.
Let me know what you think, and if you want to proceed I can get the ball rolling.
I'm just curious, but why is Osomatsu! being put as "happy to serve"?
I mean, I know that is what is used in the official VIZ, but that doesn't entirely make it right since it's something that usually means "not that great" or used to state "it wasn't a big deal".
In fact, it isn't unusual to say terms like "Osomatsu-sama deshita" after someone thanks you for a meal you cooked which translates (roughly) to "it wasn't a big deal" (which kinda fits the humility of the Japanese, though Souma is ironically not being humble while saying such a thing).
Also, fandom commonly knows of the phrase "It wasn't much" and it is used by fandom, so shouldn't it be noted that his catchphrase is "It wasn't much" and how in the VIZ, it's notes as "happy to serve"?
I mean, it isn't the 1st time that official translators modified a catchphrase of the MC (like in Naruto), so shouldn't the translated version be given, and then an explanation be used in the trivia?
I mean, this isn't the official guidebook done by the publishers, but a wiki, that is by the fans and would note stuff like this so the readers would know about these differences.
I just wanted to ask before I did anything, and if anyone else asked before me or if this was noted and dealt with earlier, I apologize *bows*
Originally, we used the phrase "It wasn't much!". However, when the official VIZ translation came up, we decided to use "Happy to serve" instead. As you can read here.
Personally, I do like the fan translations, like Casanova Scans. Also, we don't use the official translation for every topic (as we use "Autumn Election" and not "Fall Classic"). We might have to start this debate again, as we also tried here.
Hi Pscj, I am french people and i am working about a french version of Shokugeki no Soma wikia. I really love it and only Wikipedia talks about in french. So I decided to begin to make a french version. I am alone and, well, i have not a lot of knowledges about website creation. But I am motivated and I hope that some other persons will come to help me.
So I will begin quietly and slowly first. And I wanted to ask you and the staff of this wikia if i can draw inspiration from your work and use informations.
Hello Setholtek! I fear Pscj has not been online for a while now. As an adminstrator here, I wish you the best of luck in creating a French Shokugeki wikia.
You can use this wiki as an inspiration, thanks for asking. However, you should add Interwiki Links to this wiki, and at the same time, we will add Interwiki Links to yours. I advise you to keep things simple at first, start with creating the most visited pages (most important characters and such).
Thx for your answers. I will make the interwiki links soon. I just wait to have more pages and information into the wiki to ask french wikia managers to create it. I prefer to have solid bases. I will do the same with chineses so ^^
