Akira Hayama[]
Shiomi is Akira's legal guardian who met him by chance when she was nearly conned by a shady marketplace man into buying low-grade spice blends. Akira has a better understanding of spices and is much more responsible, as seen when he scolds Shiomi for neglecting her responsibilities and how he took them over.
Sōma Yukihira[]
Sōma visited Shiomi for the first time together with Megumi on the recommendation of his father after it was revealed that the theme for the Autumn Election Preliminaries would be "Curry". At first, she was clearly surprised that there were visitors and offered them her hospitality, but that hospitality changed to hostility instantly when he revealed that he was actually Jōichirō's son. Shiomi revealed that she had a bad experience with his father, as she immediately sent him flying with a heavy punch and even wanted to throw him out simply because of his family ties.
Sōma stayed in the end, but Shiomi avoided eye contact and didn't intend to help him whatsoever. However, in the end, she somewhat gains tolerance for him after he praises her research, as she starts a lecture and complains about why they, including Sōma, left. Later, when she accidentally rammed a doorknob into his stomach, she apologized to him, seemingly nothing left of her former hostility towards him.
Megumi Tadokoro[]
Megumi visits Shiomi together with Sōma to seek consultation for the Autumn Election Preliminaries. Shiomi states that she doesn't mind teaching her about spices after Megumi asks her for help.

Jōichirō Yukihira[]
Already at her first appearance, Shiomi clearly expresses her dislike for Jōichirō and states that she doesn't even want to remember him, a result of Shiomi being a guinea pig for Jōichirō's Strange Combination Cooking, leaving her with emotional scars. This dislike even goes for those related to him as shown when she punched Jōichirō's son Sōma Yukihira, although she appeared to have gotten used to him.
Despite her resentment, it is clear there is a lot of respect, as she calls him "Saiba-senpai". She also shows concern and worry when Jōichirō suddenly disappeared before BLUE and joined the rest of Pole Star in searching for him. This shows that, while she resents Jōichirō for his experiments on her, she doesn't hate him enough to actually want to see him hurt or in danger.
Gin Dōjima[]
Gin is the first person to welcome Shiomi after she arrives at the Polar Star Dorm. He also thinks of her as promising because she passed Fumio's Entrance Skill Test on her first try.
